AIESEC Alumni International to launch AlumNet with the support of Cooltribes & Profinda

AIESEC Alumni France

The development is now underway on AlumNet, the global services web portal that will bring hundreds of thousands of AIESEC alumni together in an online global network.

After an exhaustive search and extensive planning, AAI has partnered with Cooltribes and Profinda, which will build AAI’s state-of-the-art platform that will serve many purposes, including:

  • The ability to connect, collaborate and contribute, using social networking tools and advanced matching technology:
  • The deployment of AAI signature programs and events, including ALUMnite, A-Groups, Global Business Exchange, Global Job Exchange and Global Home Exchange, ISUM and others;
  • National Alumni Association (NAA) management tools, including home pages, newsletters, membership management and payment systems.

These are just some of the many features that we are planning for AlumNet, which will become the critical enabler of the AAI Transformation Project.

2013 in review

This is the 2013 annual report for the ISUM by AAI blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

The concert hall at the Sydney Opera House holds 2,700 people. This blog was viewed about 11,000 times in 2013. If it were a concert at Sydney Opera House, it would take about 4 sold-out performances for that many people to see it.

ISUM Lima: First Investment Forum

1403538_419007128199443_1055482932_o

Dear AIESEC Alumni:

Startups represent technological businesses with high growth potential and many people from our network are finding and developing opportunities through very attractive investments.

In order to connect with them, we have organized ISUM Lima: a unique annual space where performers from this network are connected. The meeting has brought some answers: How to develop a startup, get investments funds and clarify the opportunities of investing in startups. The 5th global edition was designed to meet the needs of the Peruvian’s technology environment. The event reached startups, entrepreneurs, investors and people interested in the theme. To strengthen the brand and reach the stakeholders, ISUM Lima counted with press partners such as technology blogs, magazines, TV channels and important actors on the local market. Furthermore, ISUM Lima gained the endorsement of a well-established company in the telecommunication market: Claro. As a national sponsor, Claro supported the event’s initiative and believed in the impact it can bring for the local development of new businesses.

The 5th global edition took place on Saturday 2nd of November at the Universidad Pacífico, Lima. As an international speaker, Fernando Moncayo was present: an AIESEC Alumni from Ecuador and CoFounder of Startup Ventures, global fund for entrepreneur projects at the region. Fernando was recognized by the Alumni global network as the entrepreneur of the year (2011) and has several companies on the market. What could you expect from ISUM? If you were a service provider, startup, wanted to launch an startup or would like to become an investor, you were able to attend a roundtable with investors, press room, coverage, and pitch of startups on early stage, talks with leaders from the Peruvian government funds, startup cases and angel investors.

For follow-up information, do not hesitate to contact us: marketing@isum.co. ISUM Lima was organized thanks to AIESEC Alumni Peru, Lima  Valley and InvierteMe, and had also the sponsorship of AIESEC Alumni International.  After ISUM Lima, the closest ISUM will be ISUM México in March 2014.

Dear AIESEC alumni leaders around the world,

I am writing to invite you to join us in mid-October in beautiful Vienna at our AAI Congress, which is part of the Regional AIESEC Alumni Conference with the theme “Converging Perspectives”.

This is our next opportunity to join other committed alumni from the region and from around the world to connect and collaborate on crucial decisions in the following areas of the AAI Transformation Project for unleashing AIESEC’s global alumni potential:

  • Deciding on an integrated alumni organizational model for AAI, regional alumni associations and national alumni associations
  • Deciding on AAI’s future governance model, which may include succession planning, a move towards global virtual voting and greater regional representation
  • Finalizing the funding model that will bring our collective impact to the next level

…and all of this is in addition to the very exciting program being planned by our hosts at AIESEC Alumni Austria.

Those programs and decisions will heavily affect your work with alumni in your countries, and we would like you to be involved from a very early stage and give you the opportunity to make us aware of your requirements and specialties of your country. So please make sure, that you personally or a representative of your alumni association/grouping will be present and join us in moving the alumni efforts forward.

You will learn about the benefits about our program as well as receive dedicated guidelines how to implement “Integrated Membership” in your country.

The schedule is as follows:

Thursday, October 10
Working Groups and International Startup Meeting (ISUM)

Friday, October 11
AAI Congress, where we will make important decisions, including statutory (legal) changes that will be circulated to AAI members with the convocation one month in advance.

Saturday, October 12

Sunday, October 13
Farewell with traditional Viennese breakfast.

How to pitch for investors

47809_140691582778403_1137482411_n

The OC team of ISUM Tunis is pleased to share the presentation of how to pitch for investors:

Investor_Mind_Presentation

together with the presentation of sources of financing for startup in Tunisia:

Sources of financing (1)

These presentations were made by Mr Selim MOUSSA from WIKI Startup at ISUM Tunis 2013.

Mrs Bouchamaoui speech at ISUM Tunis

Mr Wahb Zouid, President of AIESEC ALUMNI Tunisie,
Mr Slim Bahrini, President of AIESEC Tunisie,
Honorable guests,
Ladies and Gentlemen,

It is a great honor to be among you today, for this important event that is devoted to startup development and enterprises creation in the field of new technologies in Tunisia.

Before anything else, it gives me a great pleasure to welcome you here in UTICA’s headquarters and to extend my congratulations and thanks to all the team of AIESEC and AIESEC ALUMNI Tunisia for having taken this initiative and for all the efforts they are making to coach and assist Tunisian students.

I would also like to greet all the participating students here, and advise them to never limit their ambition and to be more and more creative, daring and initiating. YOU, students are the future of Tunisia, YOU are tomorrow’s leaders.

None is born leader, we become leaders by learning, training and by developing the sense of initiative, by daring and risk-taking.

The family, then school and university are probably the best grounds for spreading the seeds and the values of entrepreneurship.

The liberalization of energies and initiatives, the improvement of the business environment, the transparency in transactions and the access to information are as many factors that stimulate the creation of enterprises.

The current business environment still needs adjustment and enhancement.

In this situation, I couldn’t go on without mentioning what I assume is a fundamental point which is: the improvement of Enterprises/University relations, as this is one of the fundamentals to initiate relationships between future generations and the world of entrepreneurship.

At UTICA, we’ve always drawn the attention on this subject, as we remain convinced that students are to have an adequate education, up-dated and adapted to the requirements of the labor market, an education that will lead them to find a job and eventually launch their own project.

We do believe that a true and effective partnership between the Private sector and the University is a top priority that all parties should work on, in order to make it happen.

The success in creating, conceiving and innovating any human work is the result of a whole set of factors, mainly our determination to succeed, to carry out our plans; the environment in which we live being also another important factor.

Determination, patience and perseverance are the main features that we should have in order to face unforeseen obstacles. That’s the only way to face problems and ensure the success of our project, especially at its beginning.

Holding to these principles is important! However, the business environment is not less important. And it is the reason why UTICA never stopped making aware all the concerned parties about the obligation:

  • to upgrade the environment, in which the enterprise operates;
  • to review and improve the existing legislation and;
  • to put in place all mechanisms and tools so as to encourage the development of our enterprises on the national as well as on the international level.

I do believe that boosting our economic growth remains feasible.
Our country’s main resource is still here. As it has always been, Tunisia had no other resource than its HUMAN ones: Tunisian men and women are the backbone of the country.

We have to transcend our fears and doubts and be confident in our endeavor.

It is true that we’re experiencing some political and ideological disparities but we have to go on and to cooperate, we have to remain unified and hence become a strength at many and various levels.
We all know that thanks to just our human potential, we’ve been able to surmount many difficulties.

I would end my statement by inviting all our students and all our youth to keep faith and remain optimistic, as YOU with us, will be the determining factor of our future.

Never forget for the rest of your life in good times and bad, that you live in an interdependent world and that we have got to pull it together.

Thank you very much for your attention.

Mrs Ouided BOUCHAMAOUI, President of UTICA.
