Dear AIESEC Alumni:

Startups represent technological businesses with high growth potential and many people from our network are finding and developing opportunities through very attractive investments.

In order to connect with them, we have organized ISUM Lima: a unique annual space where performers from this network are connected. The meeting has brought some answers: How to develop a startup, get investments funds and clarify the opportunities of investing in startups. The 5th global edition was designed to meet the needs of the Peruvian’s technology environment. The event reached startups, entrepreneurs, investors and people interested in the theme. To strengthen the brand and reach the stakeholders, ISUM Lima counted with press partners such as technology blogs, magazines, TV channels and important actors on the local market. Furthermore, ISUM Lima gained the endorsement of a well-established company in the telecommunication market: Claro. As a national sponsor, Claro supported the event’s initiative and believed in the impact it can bring for the local development of new businesses.

The 5th global edition took place on Saturday 2nd of November at the Universidad Pacífico, Lima. As an international speaker, Fernando Moncayo was present: an AIESEC Alumni from Ecuador and CoFounder of Startup Ventures, global fund for entrepreneur projects at the region. Fernando was recognized by the Alumni global network as the entrepreneur of the year (2011) and has several companies on the market. What could you expect from ISUM? If you were a service provider, startup, wanted to launch an startup or would like to become an investor, you were able to attend a roundtable with investors, press room, coverage, and pitch of startups on early stage, talks with leaders from the Peruvian government funds, startup cases and angel investors.

For follow-up information, do not hesitate to contact us: marketing@isum.co. ISUM Lima was organized thanks to AIESEC Alumni Peru, Lima  Valley and InvierteMe, and had also the sponsorship of AIESEC Alumni International.  After ISUM Lima, the closest ISUM will be ISUM México in March 2014.

2012 in review

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2012 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

600 people reached the top of Mt. Everest in 2012. This blog got about 5,200 views in 2012. If every person who reached the top of Mt. Everest viewed this blog, it would have taken 9 years to get that many views.
